Proposals - Generator Appeal GENERATORS

 

In August 2010, the Africa Mercy underwent work to replace the Frichs generators onboard. At a cost of US$6,000,000, this replacement was vital to ensure the continued operation of the Africa Mercy. Though the installation is now complete, there are still substantial costs associated with the changover of the generators.

Proposals - Spectrum Liberia SURGICAL

 

Mercy Ships provides free surgeries such as tumour removal, noma reconstructive surgery, eye surgery, fistula surgery, orthopaedics, and cleft lip and palate repair. While performing these surgeries, Mercy Ships also trains local surgeons.

BUILDING MEDICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

 

Mercy Ships partners with locals to provide long-term solutions to medical needs through the building of clinic facilities, development of community advocacy networks, and training of local nurses and doctors.

Mercy Ships dental teams work to improve oral health through dental surgery, dental hygiene education, and training of local personnel.

The Mercy Ships HIV/AIDS Education program focuses on preventing the spread of the disease through increased awareness and community mobilization. Additional programs focus on caring for those with the disease.
