GENERATORS
In August 2010, the Africa Mercy underwent work to replace the Frichs generators onboard. At a cost of US$6,000,000, this replacement was vital to ensure the continued operation of the Africa Mercy. Though the installation is now complete, there are still substantial costs associated with the changover of the generators. |

SURGICAL
Mercy Ships provides free surgeries such as tumour removal, noma reconstructive surgery, eye surgery, fistula surgery, orthopaedics, and cleft lip and palate repair. While performing these surgeries, Mercy Ships also trains local surgeons. |

BUILDING MEDICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
Mercy Ships partners with locals to provide long-term solutions to medical needs through the building of clinic facilities, development of community advocacy networks, and training of local nurses and doctors. |

DENTAL PROJECTS
Mercy Ships dental teams work to improve oral health through dental surgery, dental hygiene education, and training of local personnel. |
|
|
|
 |
HIV/AIDS PROGRAMS
The Mercy Ships HIV/AIDS Education program focuses on preventing the spread of the disease through increased awareness and community mobilization. Additional programs focus on caring for those with the disease. |

HEALTH AND NUTRITION
Community Health Education teams and agricultural experts train local individuals to act as health and nutrition resources in their own community. These motivated trainers will teach in their own families and villages. |

WATER AND SANITATION
Mercy Ships works with local organizations to provide communities with life’s most basic necessity. |

REHABILITATION
Mercy Ships works directly with the disabled to restore productive lives and works to uplift communities decimated by war or disease by partnering with them to restore services. |

TRAINING AND EDUCATION
Mercy Ships helps build infrastructure for education and personal development through construction and skills training. |

MERCY MINISTRIES
Mercy Ships crew give of their own time to proactively serve in a variety of ways, including teams that visit those we are unable to help through surgeries. |

CHURCH EMPOWERMENT
Mercy Ships is committed to strengthening churches as they often are the strongest link in the chain to improve the lives of the poor. Through pastor conferences, teaching and training, Mercy Ships seeks to strengthen churches and provide much needed resources. |

PROGRAM SUPPORT
Mercy Ships program support teams allow us to build capacity to assess program sites, maintain organisational readiness for disaster relief, and give short-term volunteers an opportunity to serve the poor through development teams. |
